"You make me" what???
Scratch that; I have AWFUL hearing.
Some background: A few years back, I brought up the subject with my doctor. I told him I was convinced that I couldn't hear properly when my husband would speak to me from short distances away. I told him I was one of the following:
- I was losing my hearing.
- I was choosing to ignore Mr. Luigilover; or
- I was (is) Crazy
We decided to look into the hearing loss option as it did not involve any psychological testing. So off I went, and after a series of tests I learned that I did have some hearing loss and that I read lips to to cope with my hearing loss. Who knew!? I could "read" what those crazy umps were saying at baseball games when they were arguing about something or other.
After that brief background, my posting for today begins!
I (unconsciously) make up words to songs when I can't make them out (artists now a days mumble a lot of their words--but I digress). That doesn't help matters when there are a handful of songs that get played over and OVER again. In today's day and age, it's Michael Buble. Ugh. Whoever decided to give this clown a recording contract should be shot.
His song "Everything" is on the airwaves playing 4 times an hour. If you haven't heard it, or don't know how the song goes, go play it now.....
I'll wait...
Ok...the chorus goes like this:
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
This is what I was belting out instead:
And in this crazy life, and through this crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sick.
*mumble*mumble*, you're everything.
I really should look into those hearing aides again!

If it makes you feel any better, I thought that is how the song went too, the first dozen or so times I heard the song. After actually listening to the song, I knew that could not make sense and finally I figured out the real lyrics.
Sometimes the lyrics we hear are better than what the writer wrote. Afterall, some 'artists' have made a lot of money by putting their own lyrics to others' songs.
