Actually, I'm a Lego

I guess I would have to know what my sign is first. So off to a few websites to find out what I am. Hum...August 23......August 23....well, this one says I'm a Leo. Ok. But this one says I'm a Virgo. So what the heck am I?
So into a high round of self doubt and wondering "where do I belong" on this colourful chart of words associated with the awesome "Aquarius"', Pragmatic "Pisces", or the careful "Capricorns".
Then, I came across this wonderful website. I fall on a cusp! I'm what they call a "Confused Cuspal Creature". I don't know where I fall, so they decided to create new cuspal creatures. I guess the only thing now, is to see if I'm what they describe I 'am'.
The Leo/Virgo cusp (Aug 23):
LEGO - the crazed artisan. This is the cusp that inspired the Sphinx and that rules stage fright. These creatures are the emperors of the zodiac, and they maintain absolute control over their designated kingdom (no matter how small). In the panic caused by the plunge from the throne of Leo to the humility of Virgo, these poor confused souls can often be heard to say, "How can I help you (meet my needs)?" Famous LEGO: King Louis XVI of France.
Right. Perhaps a few of those statements are right. Especially the confused part. Hum...Let's see what some other ones say (wow, there are a lot of websites with this kind of info!) about my cusp problems, like this one:
Those born on the Leo/Virgo Cusp have the vitality and ambition to be successful in their creative endeavours and are industrious and efficient when working for a good cause....Leo/Virgo Cusps are gregarious, social and fun-loving, and live life with enthusiasm. The natural leadership of these people and their administrative prowess help ensure that their projects are successful. Leo/Virgos enjoy exploring their interests deeply. They are very good at understanding the deeper meaning of what others say. They rely on logic rather than emotion to make their decisions. They are reliable, practical and diligent, but they can sometimes seem picky or overcritical to those who aren't as discriminating as they are.
Wow. Maybe there's something to this afterall! Or, maybe not. I'm sure if you throw out enough adjectives, you're bound to hit a 'true-ish' sounding one.
So, that settles it. I'm a Lego. There are enough adjectives in the Lego description that describes me (eventually) and that's that. Why do I still feel so darned confused though!?

March of the Penguins

My friend lent me her March of the Penguins DVD (last week...) and I watched it last night. It was such a great movie....well, maybe not a 'movie' persay, more like a documentary.
The film showed us how delicate life is, what is needed to endure through it, and the struggles and rewards one faces with it.
Ok, I'll admit, I cried like a big baby girl at some parts of it (stupid seal). I guess it all comes down to the fact that life is life. It has a beginning, middle and an end. No matter how hard we try, it'll end eventually, in one way shape or form.
I watch this great documentary and I'm grateful that the film makers produced such a wonderful film. I would much MUCH rather watch something like this than the garbage that's in theatres right now.
Thank you penguins for showing me how wonderful/difficult/rewarding your lives are, and continue the march!

Good morning, Canada!

It's a great morning to be a Canadian, isn't it?
I can now sleep easier, knowing that 'the man' has gone down in defeat, that he has resigned, and that my money will be going into my pocketbook instead of his.
My religious values, my political stance and ethical upbringings will be represented in this new candidate.
Welcome aboard, Stephen. Go do good!

I'm a Hugger

Sorry everyone, I love to hug.
I think it's a great way to show people that you care about them, and a good way not to invade anyone's space tooo much.
So, if you get hugged by me--consider yourself lucky. I care enough about you and your feelings to share in a hug.
So--hug someone you love today. What do you have to lose?
Everyone knows that this world defintely needs some more loving....a hug is the simpliest way to show it!

Really gets my goat...

I'm so tired of people complaining about this damned election. Sick and tired of hearing "Why are you going to vote for that Christian loving right wing nut job!?". I'm voting for him because he stands up for myself, my values and how I feel a country should be run--that's why.
For everyone who has moved here, or are first born Canadians (like myself)--guess what--You have been brought into a country that was founded on Christian principles, and Christian values. Love yourself, thy neighbour and all that jazz.
What I don't understand is what all the big hoopla's all about people. Do your religion, do your 'thing'...go nuts. I honestly don't mind...really. I don't. As long as it doesn't' hurt other people you can bow down to whatever god makes you happy, brings you peace and joy.
But remember this one thing--don't be dissing my religion. Don't be going around calling it a "winter holiday", or "spring break". I don't hear you complaining when you get Good Friday, Easter Monday and Christmas off! I should get your Jewish Holidays off, not stay late on Fridays, get Kwanzaa off too then. It's only fair, right?
Don't be going around Canada proclaiming that we're racist/ignorant to you. You don't give us enough credit--not by a long shot. Canada allows you to do whatever you please..without worry of being prosecuted, shot, maimed etc. If I were to go to your country and say "You're not being fair to me, I want to celebrate Christmas because it's MY religious holiday"....the results may not be the same.
So please...PLEASE before you open your mouth about how horrible Canada is; please think carefully before you say anything. You've obviously left your country to come to this one for a reason.....Canada is wonderful and as welcoming as a big warm happy family. Please don't abuse it....and respect it for what it is. A country that other countries are envious of.
Oh yeah...back to the election. Make sure you vote your heart--but at the very least, go out and vote!!
